Helen Vogel is a landscape photographer who uses her camera on the great outdoors and the often
unexamined indoors. She has traveled extensively through the western United States working to portray
the country that has not been tamed by the people who pass through it.
Helen studied photography at the University of Arizona program in Guadalajara, Mexico, and the
Photographic Center Northwest in Seattle, Washington. She participated in the University of Washington
photographic project to document construction workers involved in the renovation of the historic
Suzallo Library.
When not involved in making photographs, Helen has learned how to mend fence, clean tack,
and set up a tent in a fair wind.
